In response to the pandemic, RE/MAX, LLC took its Broker Owner Conference (BOC) into the online space. The event, which was held virtually on August 17-18, 2020, connected the network’s brokers in more than 110 countries and territories together in an online space to exchange ideas, network with each other, discover new tools and technology, and take their business to the next level.

The BOC is exclusively offered to RE/MAX brokers, owners and managers. It is the network’s second-largest event after the RE/MAX R4 Convention. The event included a host of notable speakers, a digital Approved Supplier MarketPlace, networking meetups, and a full range of educational and inspirational sessions – all in a dynamic virtual environment that mimicked being onsite at the conference.

“Hosting the event virtually made it available to even more attendees, while adding the convenience and safety of attending from their own home. We may need to be physically apart, but we created an event that brought people together,” says Pam Harris, RE/MAX Senior Vice President, Customer Experience.

The shift from an in-person event is another example of how RE/MAX is emerging as a leader in online content and virtual experiences for real estate professionals in response to social distancing requirements stemming from Covid-19. In March, RE/MAX debuted daily webinars to help brokers and agents remain focused on building their business. The global real estate franchisor also launched two weekly Facebook Live broadcasts with its CEO and Chief Customer Officer in late March – Adam Contos: Mind, Body and Business and Good Morning RE/MAX with Nick Bailey, respectively.

In Southern Africa, RE/MAX has followed suit with similar digital innovations. Regional Director and CEO sent out daily video messages to the RE/MAX SA network to encourage and inspire them through Alert Level 5 and 4. At Alert Level 3, RE/MAX SA launched The Weekly Win series on Goslett’s YouTube channel to share new educational messages to the network on a weekly basis. The Regional Support Office has also launched a whole set of new, South African specific online training courses on the brand’s intranet. All these innovations were done to help the network make use of their time in lockdown to upskill themselves from both a business as well as a personal perspective.

“This year’s BOC online is just another way RE/MAX is innovating to provide continued support to our associates and staff at a time when they need it most. During these challenging times, it is incredibly beneficial to join a global brand to help keep you motivated, inspired and equipped to navigate through the many unknown challenges that await us. There truly has not been a better time to partner with RE/MAX than right now,” concludes Adrian Goslett, Regional Director and CEO of RE/MAX of Southern Africa.
